School-Business Partnerships of Long Island, Inc. Joins NYC FIRST® In Hosting FIRST® Tech Challenge Qualifying Tournament

School-Business Partnerships of Long Island, Inc. (SBPLI), in cooperation with NYCFIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) will be hosting aFIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC) Qualifying Tournament on January 31, 2015 at Syosset High School, located at 70 South Woods Road in Syosset.

As part of the FTC program, there will be almost 45,000 students from around the globe who will learn valuable science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills as they participate in this year’s challenge –– CASCADE EFFECTSSM –– in which teams will attempt to score as many points as possible by placing balls into rolling goals and then moving those goals into scoring areas. Points can also be awarded by shooting the balls into the center goal.

The New York City and Long Island FTC Championship Tournament will take place March 1, 2015 at New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering in Brooklyn, NY.
